Data and source questions

Why is Digital ATIS unavailable?

Digital ATIS availability varies by airport and source. When it is unavailable, PilotCB shows it as unavailable rather than presenting another weather product as ATIS.

Why can METAR and ATIS differ?

METAR and ATIS are separate products with their own update cycles and conventions. PilotCB shows the source and freshness instead of forcing the values to match.

What do stale or unavailable states mean?

Status labels show when information is no longer considered current or cannot be retrieved. PilotCB does not present unavailable data as current.

How does PilotCB use FAA and supplemental data?

FAA and official aviation data form the core. Selected third-party sources add context where useful without replacing authoritative aviation data.

Operational information

Runway use, approach and closure status are based on explicit current source information where available. PilotCB avoids adding operational meaning that the source did not state.

PilotCB supports briefing and situational awareness. It does not replace required official sources, dispatch procedures or pilot judgment.
